Forty minutes on the roof, photographs of everything you cannot see from the pavement, and a written price that does not move unless you change the spec.
Nobody sells you a roof on the doorstep. The survey is a job in itself: we climb it, photograph it, write down what is wrong and give you the report whether the work comes to us or not.
You send the postcode
The form below, or a phone call. Tell us what you have noticed: a stain on the ceiling, slates in the garden, a gutter that overflows on one corner.
We book the visit
Usually within three working days, in a two hour window agreed with you. You do not need to be there if we can reach the back, but most people like to be.
Forty minutes on the roof
Ladder or pole camera, sometimes both. We look at the covering, the batten through a lifted tile, the valleys, the flashings, the flaunching, the loft side of the felt and the gutters.
The report
Photographs with a line under each one saying what it shows and whether it matters now, next year or not at all. Emailed as a PDF, yours to keep.
The fixed price
Itemised by elevation and material, with scaffold, skip, building control and VAT shown separately. Valid for 60 days, and it is the figure you pay unless you change the spec.
What we check
- Covering: slipped, delaminating, nail sick or sound
- Batten and underlay through a lifted course
- Valleys, soakers, chimney backs and abutments
- Flaunching, pots and the state of the stack
- Gutters, outlets and where the water actually goes
- Loft side: daylight, damp, ventilation and insulation depth
What it costs you
Nothing, anywhere within thirty miles of the yard, whether you go ahead or not.
If the honest answer is that the roof has ten years left in it and needs two slates and a gutter clear, that is what the report will say and what we will charge for.
Emergency call outs, where water is coming in today, are £95 plus materials and we will be there the same day if the weather lets us on the roof.
